Computer issue - New PSU, monitor doesn't wor

Hey guys, having an issue. Put in a new PSU, 650w.

Basically, the computer starts and the monitor doesn't, the lights turn on, PSU powers up, video card turns on, everything gets power, but the monitor doesn't turn on at the light turns yellow and it goes to standby mode and doesn't turn on ever, I've reseated the card twice and even completely redone all the PSU wiring to everything. No error beeps or lights, can'et get the computer to turn on at all.

stick your monitor into the motherboards input. goto bios, set it to output to pciexpress card

Can't, doesnt even show the diagnostics screen at start up, no way to get into Bios, also something I should have posted before :

Windows XP SP3 86x

AMD Phenom 9500 @ 2.2GHz

2x1gb Kingston DDR2 @ 800MHz

HIS Radeon HD 4870 512mb

500GB Seagate @ 7200RPM SATA

Blue Star 650w SLI Gamer

Also I know everything is getting power for a fact, The PSU 120mm fan turns on and I even stuck my finger into the fan of the 4870 and it cut my finger open.

take out the battery from the motherboard for 10 mins. put it back in and see if that helps to reset the bios.

also, plug in the 4pin to the motherboard

4pin was already in. going to try the battery now,

Check power cable on the gpu. Or take the gpu out, and put it back in.

Ït is very common for gpu to start, even when it doesnt get the right amount of power, but it wont show anything.

Do you know the pc is posting even if it doesnt show anything?

Check to make sure that any supplemental power from your PSU to your card is plugged in and has good contact.

if you have a usb stick that has a signal light (as in it shows when data is being read and transferred) plug it in and boot, if it starts blinking, your MB is getting past post. this only works if you have your bios check usb for bootable media though.... if you have onboard as well, try that and see if it works.... if that doesnt, re-try your old gpu and make sure you didnt bump anything.....

ohh! and that reminds me, my friend had a computer he ordered and asked for me to help him put his old gpu in, after i helped him, we noticed that no video was being displayed, i was very confused, but i noticed his optical drive was not getting a power light.... well, the 4 pin was in, but the long cord (forgot what its called >_>) was not in... i pluged it in, and everything worked.... so make sure you didnt rip out any optical drive wires....

Tried battery, didn't work.

Already took all the stuff in and out of the computer three times, so that's not the issue.

Tried another monitor; Same result. Still no errors, everything in thecomputer powers up, but still no video.

is it possible that the PSU is underpowered? or might be DOA. ive seen this before with a bad PSU where it just doesn't put out enough juice.

Everything gets power, and it's definitely more than enough to power to power everything, the 9500 only takes up 95w and the video card only idles around 150 and under full load (even though I can't use it because of this problem right now) I don't think it would go over 250w, add another 50-75 watts from all the other stuff, 650w should be more than enough to use everything. As far as DOA, it does start, the 120mm fan kicks in and sends power everywhere.

Boot with no drives attached. HDD, Diskdrive, etc etc.

I had this exact problem. Fixed it in a snap.

Will try that in a sec, post results in a few. Would it at least allow me to get to the bios?

Didn,t work, going to try running a linux live disc with just the drives plugged in and see how it goes...

It wouldn't hurt to hook a volt meter to it just to check its output.

Did that, everything is in working order but there's one thing that slipped my eye that I see now, hopefully I can get this resolved. It's a really stupid issue if this turns out to be the problem, will post eventually reporting what it is if I get it sorted out.

Take the GPU out entirely, try the integrated one, or a different one.

I cant see anywhere him mentioning to have integrated graphics... mmmm
