My computer ate a couple sticks of 8 gb Cosiar Vengeance Ram. I am wondering if it could be a under voltage issue. I have a UEFI Bios that is running default. My ram is running at 1.5 volts. I changed out my motherboard, Using a Sabertooth 990fx R.20.
Just makes no sense Why this is happening. I wanted to ask here. I did see a few from google search Claim it should be a 1.8 voltage on ram. Just not so sure I trust that.
Not even sure its a motherboard Issue, So I thought I would ask here instead of the motherboard section. I just can not see having 2 sticks of the same ram go bad in a two month period.
Vengeance ram is meant for 1.5v. I wouldnt recommend 1.8v... no way.
You say you changed out your board to a Sabretooh R.2, is this the board you have the issue with or the board prior to it?
Have you run Memtest86? Tried other sticks of ram? Tried the other 2 ram channels?
RAM going bad within a close period of each other is certainly possible. Shit happens sometimes but you wont know if your board has a problem until you try some other ram dimms. If new ram cakes it quick you have stronger evidence that the board has a fault.
Both Mother Boards ate one stick of 8 gig ram a peace. Yea, I do have and Ran Memetest, Tried different slots. Windows 7 was throwing the BSOD about once or twice a week. Once I tracked down and removed that stick, No more BSOD. Just seems odd, both the Old, and the New Motherboard ate the ram.
Both motherboards were the Sabertooth 990 R.2. Just seems rare a motherboard in a desktop going bad. If it eats more ram, the only other thing I can think of is MAYBE the cpu has issues. Running the AMD 8350.
