Computer freezing

OK so recently I got a SSD a  [Samsung 840 evo (used)] and a 25ft Ethernet cord. I have been loving it! Everything is so fast! But as the title said my computer just freezes here and there for like ~10-20 seconds and then BAM every thing happens at once. First my internet slows then it freezes. Any idea on what the problem might be?

Did it only start doing this after you started using the longer ethernet cord?

My guess would be the motherboard. That one is honestly shit. It has so many VRM issues. They get too hot and can even fail which leads to all sorts of problems. That motherboard should only be used with the 6 core AMD parts and even then it is questionable.

Yes I think it started when i got the Ethernet cord plugged in.

I agree the power delivery on that mobo sucks ... but

  1. double check the Cat5 that you got for damage Cat5e or Cat6 would be better
  2. check all connections ... cable + hardware
  3. run prime 95 on CPU
  4. run memtest on one stick of ram at a time
  5. run crystaldisk or your favorite drive utility on all drives
  6. use a volt/ohm meter to check PSU
  7. buy a better mobo
