Comparison and difference?

I was pretty confident with getting the gigabyte gtx 660 , but everyone on these forums seems like a 7970 or 7950 or whatever is much better. My processor is a intel core i3 3220 and i will be playing the average games, bf3, alan  wake etc. What is the difference in these 2 gpus?

And both 7850 and 7970 will overclock much better then the 660 will

There would be a good argument for the 660 if you needed the CUDA core for working in Adobe CS, but for gaming the AMD 7000 cards would be the better option for you.
