So, all I hear from everyone around me is Linux, Linux, Linux. I have succumbed to peer pressure and want to learn more Linux stuff, starting with the command line. Where do I learn Linux commands, and what they do?
man man
Problem?
Well , if you don't know 'command line' is , you've got a lot to do .
Get into it by getting a py and playing with it , that helps a bunch .
I don't know of any sites for that though .
hehe
he was actually giving you the most important command :)
Where's Zoltan when you need him lol
lol. That is funny. oops
Already have one.
Well then , jump in !
I would recommend hosting a website , great useful start , or even a file server , just stick a 8gb usb stick and try !
Or , do you have a desktop with linux ?
I have a VM with Fedora. Is there a better distro you can recommend?
I don't think there is a best one all around, only a best one for your needs. Get to know the basics of the command line, file system, and package manager(s) then just try all the distros lol.
Thanks so much! This is what I was looking for!
What to list every command :P
No one has actually explained what they do, its simple, they do what you tell them, you cp a file, it copies it to the destination no questions, its that simple.
Of course each command is different, but you get the idea.
Open up, here it is, let's begin
