Cluster!

Ok guys… I need help! :P

This is the thing:
I do 3D stuff (models, animations, renders, etc...) And about a year ago, I was commissioned to do some videos that were going to take a long time to render… so I said to myself: “You are going to need more computer power!!!!”

I didn’t have much cash with me… but I managed to pull out $1500 to invest in hardware, I look for suppliers, a bunch of online stores and eBay, and I succeeded to build 5 quad core machines with 8 Gb or ram each. I even build a rack for them on the same budget…

I did my renders with them, but…  I haven’t been able to set it up right in a way so I can do clustering.  And take more advantage of those 20 cores.

So…  If some one knows how to set it up as a better render farm, I’ll appreciate all the help and feedback I can get…

Also when is not in use, we can re purpose it for other tasks, lake a dedicated server or something!

I’ll be more than happy to lend it to the community! :P

Hell, that's awesome. May I ask what software you used? I haven't done too much research on this at all so I don't know what to ask, but how do you cluster them to pool the computing?

you, sir, need a desk.

HE HAS A DESKKKKK

BIG DESK GOOD DESK DONT GET A NEW ONE ITS A GOOD DESK

Thank you CaptainPip , right now each of them have Windows 7 … they have installed the render client so I send my work to render from the work station and then they render… I want to change that so that they behave as a single thing and not 5 different machines, but I don’t know how :S

I do have a desk  XD this thing is just parked next to it :P

This is my filthy workspace XD

Ahh I see, I thought you had them networked as a Beowulf cluster. I'm probably more in the dark as to how to do it than you are even though heh. It'd be worth looking into though would turn out some fun results.

Yeah, that’s the final goal. This thing should pack some Horse Power… but, I have no idea in how to set it up :/
