Fedora 23 installed on my second hdd

Will not detect my wifi card

Wifi card is a Broadcom 43228 mini pcie card.

Tethered my phone.

Tell me what you need to help me fix it and i can paste terminal outputs here.

does the card work in any other computers/os's?

what type of phone is it? iphone? android? blackberry? other?

propriety drivers so you need to install them in some way. dont know if above works but you can always use rpmfusion and install broadcom-wl

since you seem new to fedora check something like this out, if you care about free software you would have to change your wifi card

Yes the card works in Windows - its the built in card on my Maximus V Formula Mobo

My phone is just tethered for internet purposes

RPMFusion is enabled and i hyave installed kmod-wl and the broadcom-wl drivers.

Try doing sudo modprobe wl this should load the module and sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager see if now works.

To load the wl module at boot do:
echo 'wl' | sudo tee /etc/modules-load.d/wl.conf

Did you install the devel packages beforehand? sudo dnf install kernel-devel

Edit: or simply do:
sudo dnf update --best --allowerasing then akmods --force and then sudo modprobe wl

yeah kernel-devel has been installed from the start

even after all that I still get

modprobe: FATAL: Module wl not found in directory /lib/modules/4.2.6-301.fc23.x86_64

Replace kmod-wl with akmod-wl then run the two commands sudo akmods --force and then sudo modprobe wl then restart the networkmanager service.

Still no luck

Going to bed, need my sleep so I can keep beating my head against a wall tomorrow.

No problem. We'll get it installed. I have 2 pcs with Broadcom wifi cards so... :)

Edit: when you wake up post the outputs of uname -r and rpm -qa | grep -e kernel -e broadcom-wl -e kmod-wl | sort replace kmod-wl with akmod-wl if you have akmod-wl.
