Hello to all,
kind of funny, I joined the community of a tek forum because of this thread and it's time to say thank you for the recommendation of "The Forever War". Great Book!
Not a real SciFi more like a Space-Opera like Frank Herbert´s Dune but i really can recommend the whole Commonwealth-Saga and Armageddon-Cyclus by Peter F. Hamilton. All in all about 10 books of around 600 pages each. If you look for a less timeconsuming read you could go for Joe Haldeman´s The Forever War. A real good read. Highly recommend it.
I'm a big fan of the Halo books but the best of the series in my opinion have been the ones by Eric Nylund. So pick up these when you can. Great reads!
Halo: Fall of Reach
Halo: First Strike
Halo: Ghosts of Onyx
Stanislaw Lem - The Invincible (Lem is really funky...in a good way)
Arthur C. Clarke 2001: The Space Odyssey and 2010: Odyssey Two, The City And The Stars
Asimov: The Stars Like Dust, Foundation
Jeffrey Stone: Visitor From The Darkness
Phillip K. Dick - Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? (Blade Runner)
Frank Herbert's Dune Saga in my eyes is the best series written. I have re-read the saga more times than I can remember.
dune is the best... too bad frank had to die before he finished
William Gibson - Neuromancer
