I've been playing some classic FPS's for the first time.. DOOM, Serious Sam, Quake.. God damn! Games nowadays suck. These games are a million times better than AAA Call of Dogshit. I played tons of Call of Duty back when I was a poor console peasant and these blow them out of the water. Serious Sam on normal is WAY harder than any new FPS on the hardest difficulty. I wish I had a gaming PC years ago, growing up playing games like these must have been amazing. Old classic games such as these are what FPS is supposed to be. So on that note, what are some of the best classic FPS games? I want to play them all.
What I got so far-
DOOM Series
Quake Series
Serious Sam Series
Wolfenstein Series
Duke Nukem Series
Any mods for these games would be awesome. I'm already looking into brutal DOOM, but having the BFG edition is going to make things a bit difficult.
I dont know if you are into RPG style shooters but the stalker series is excellent and they have plenty of mods for content and graphics. I like misery mod as it makes it harder and more rewarding to "complete".
I like what I'm seeing, does it run okay on Windows 8.1?
Blake stone, Rise of the triad, corridor 7, system shock. Most of them are on gog so most of them will run fine on anything. Corridor 7 needs dosbox and I forget about system shock 1.
ROTT looks really good, and so does System Shock. Im gonna be busy for a while.. ROTT looks like multiplayer would be fun.
Make sure you play the 90's original and 2013 remake. They are both worth it.
I was looking at the second one... What the hell LMAO
Bulletstorm is fun
The Original MOH Allied Assault and both expacs are excellent
Necrovision is worth a look
I played Bulletstorm, fun but too short. MOH are really great but I played all of them lol. Necrovision looks... interesting? lol
It doesnt like to change rez in the game so you have to do it by editing the text file but its not super hard. If you do misery mod it fixes this problem.
All of the Build engine games:
Blood ('One Whole Unit Blood' on GOG)
Shadow Warrior (the new one was pretty good too, but they're both on Steam or GOG)
Redneck Rampage
I don't know where you would find them, or if they even work on modern PCs, but the Jedi engine and Sith engine games:
Dark Forces
Jedi Knight (Dark Forces II), Mysteries of the Sith
Outlaws
Also, and this should work on dosbox, if you can actually find it anywhere:
Nitemare 3D
Oh, otehr Doom engine games:
Heretic
Hexen
The good old days), but you should play stalker games that's one of my favorite game series its open world with great story-line, it takes place in Chernobyl and it has tons of mods after you play through the story-line of three games you should install serious mod its different for each of the games and it has lots of improvements
