Cinnemon with Gnome?

Is there a way to have a cinnamon desktop but have a gnome overlay. Like everything is cinnamon (clicking the menu button brings up the quarter menu that windows 3-7 borrows) but when I press the omi-key on my keyboard it brings up the gnome menu.

This may seem like a stupid question but I'm still learning.

Cinnamon is basicly build on Gnome, so its not that strange.

You can edit shortcuts to your liking and cinnamon has many settings that are common with gnome since it is based on it. If you play with the theming, shortcuts, effects and hot corners you can probably get what you want. Although i am not sure what you mean by gnome menu..

The overlay menu in gnome. With the search at the top, the apps in the middle, top apps on the side etc.

You can always go the other way around...Add a menu/application button in gnome...There a few nice extensions in gnome that do that.

You can use a program called slingscold to get exactly what you want, but I completely agree with turin213.

Gnome 3 can do exactly what you want it to do with a few simple extensions and it would work a lot better than having a separate program.

This defeats the purpose of Cinnamon...
