My employer just bought me a new Chromebook. It's the HP Chromebook 14, with the Nvidia K1 Tegra. I really love it.
I'm not yet sure if they are going to let me use developer mode, at any point.
What are some must-have productivity apps, or some tweaks I can do to make my experience with Chrome OS better? I've never really used Chrome OS, but I'm starting to really enjoy it despite my snobishness. Except when it runs out of RAM. That is bad. But it just feels so damn sexy to use a browser as an operating system. Sleek.
Also, Chromebook general I guess. Do you have a Chromebook? Do you use it for work or pleasure? I'm thinking of buying one for pleasure now I've seen what fun they are.
I have your chromebook, and its usually my main laptop, because of its battery life. I installed ubuntu gnome on it, and it runs fine, but I also used, modified, and played with chromeos too. There are things you can do with chromeos that are cool, like enabling developer mode and opening up the console. But on the other hand you are just too limited. I use ubuntu gnome for c++ development, but my biggest problem really is the lack of ppa support for arm. You have to compile alot of code yourself, because most people dont care about arm.
