Well, some “Android emulators” are just VMware running an Android VM. I wondered why there were VMware NICs on a system I was working with, and it turns out their kid wanted to play Android games on PC.
Not really, VMware doesen’t license their tech to people that make Android emulators. The only one I know based on a VM program is Genymotion that uses Virtualbox. Anyway looks like my issue has something to do with VMware and, in particular, Android VMs. I had to disable IPv6 but that’s not a problem for me since I don’t think I’ll ever connect this laptop to a network so wide that it requires an IPv6 address. Good call on the Android thing, even if it was unintentional lol
