Chrome 57 Performance Reports

So, as you guys may alright know, Chrome 57 update changed some stuff behind the curtains to make it drain less battery and whatnot, which cause a lot of confusion among people who watch videos and do other type of media related stuff in the background.

How's your experience with 57 been so far?

I've personally been experiencing a ton of stuttering and lag with both Flash and HTML5 video players since the update rolled out

Everything's working alright so far, but I've noticed some perfomance dips, specially when opening 10+ tabs.

BTW, in regard to HTML5 video playback, well I have an odd issue with this website since June 2016 (http://bit.ly/2dphOBs).
What happens is that I start watching a video (and set the q. to 1080p) everything runs smoothly up until a point where massive lag begins that even slows down my computer, until I reload the webpage and the cycle repeats itself. Has happened to me both in Windows and in Linux.

IMHO chrome performance isn't as good as it used to be.

They got rid of the fucking menu tabs button on the top right task bar and replaced it with dots.

I. FUCKING. HATE IT.

For me on my Win 10 Laptop with 6Gb RAM, Chrome 57 is an OBSCENE MEMORY HOG. 10 Tabs of stackoverflow and one youtube page and it was hogging 4Gb. HOW? I cant possibly have downloaded 4Gb of data into those tabs within 10mins of opening them on a 2Mbit ADSL line. That's just crazy. It also seems really slow to open, particularly when compared to Chromium on an older Linux machine.

Actually, i just thought of something. Since Vivaldi is built on top of Chromium, is it worth switching to it with all the bugs and inability to connect your Google account to sync stuff, or does Google push updates like the 1% limit to Chromium itself?
