Over the past couple of days the latest version of Chrome (non beta) has been hanging and freezing near constantly. I have uninstalled/reinstalled and cleared the caches and data several times.
It can freeze 5 times within 10 minutes and then not freeze for hours and I can't seem to nail it down to an exact page or extension.
Has anyone else had this problem?
nope. use firefox... well, nightly. never had an issue.

You could of course try and uninstall it, then reinstall an older more stable version.
I have the same version, but dont have any problems with it. Well, flash sometimes crashes.
I have it set for flash to be always off so I don't think that is it.
I have been using firefox off and on whenever Chrome has acted up and have had no problems with firefox.
