Hey guys, I am building a new rig and I have problem choosing the case. My max budget for the case is $100. I'll be putting an ATX mobo, NZXT Havik 140, and AMD 7950. I need a solid case that has good airflow, large CPU hole, plenty room for cable management, and rubber grommets at the cable holes to keep my rig look clean and tidy. I'm also looking for a case that has removable dust filters at the front and the bottom (for PSU). I don't really care much about the front I/O panel because I already have a bitfenix USB 3.0 front panel (http://www.bitfenix.com/global/en/products/accessories/usb3-front-panel/) from my old case and that's pretty much all I need.
I have looked over some cases and I kinda like the Corsair 400R, but is there any better case than that for under $100?
The dust filter for the front fan is not easily removable, and I don't really need the dust filter at the top. I do like the look though but I don't think I want to spend extra 20 for that.
I have the cm storm enforcer and love it! The CPU cut out is big enough to fit a noctua NH D14 through, so no issues there :P You should have to problem with clearance for the Havik and for long graphics cards, you can tske one of the drive bays out.
*edit* There are no rubber gromments on the cable management holes, but I dont think it's too much of a big deal and the PSU fan filter is removable.
The Enforcer looks good and I like the window side panel, but I can't find some features that I need. So thank you for suggesting but no thanks.
About the R4, I want to ask something about those sound dampening material all over the case. Is that gonna be a problem with the airflow? I'm not really into building a silent rig, so I care most about the airflow.
Too bad, I don't live in the states. I find that prices there are much cheaper than here in Asia. Now about the tempest 410 Elite, I like the look and the features, especially the window side panel, so I will keep that in mind, thank you MZXT1. :)
I have 2 140mm fans in the front and one in the rear, since you can get 140's and its a bit wider you get a $h!t ton of airflow, you can install up to 7 x 140mm fans, and each of theyre standard fans can move 65CFM, and High perf 140mm Fans can move even more you talking 80+ CFM a per fan.
The R4 seems like a pretty sweet case, it has everything I need, it has very good reviews as well. I love the look, and Fractal has the window side version of it, so I think I'm gonna buy it. It's a bit over $100 here, but I think I'll manage. Thank you very much for your help guys, I really appreciate it. Merry Christmas. =)
