Choosing a Monitor

Do you have any tips for choosing a monitor, or is it okay to go with a cheap and nasty one?

I will need it for gaming and if possible, good value for money would be nice.

I know to look for the resolution, size and what technology it is (e.g. LED), what else do I need to look for when choosing a monitor?

T.Y. In advance :D

Supporting reviews, perhaps?

Here's what I have It's pretty cheap and has a 2ms response time so I don't notice any screen blur like my old IPS although the colours aren't as vibrant but it costs significantly less than what IPS panel monitors run for. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236112

If you don't want to go with that make sure you get something with a response time of 5ms or less. I always like to go with trusted brands as quality is important and most cheap monitors have flimsy stands.

Thanks good info, anyway I don't think there will be a noticable difference between 5ms ans 2ms.

I would like 2 monitors as well, any tips?

Just grab another montior and plug it in, nothing else to it!

I bought this because I needed a monitor bad..I was tired of using my 41" TV.. I have very limited income..it doesnt have the low response time..

Get two of those

Or you might want to get one of those and one with fast response time for gaming.
