Chipsets?

What is the difference between the chipsets on Motherboards, I've looked everywhere but I can't seem to find out what its for?

And what chipset would you suggest for an i3-3220? Hoping to then upgrade to an i5 in a year or so, so maybe one that can do both pretty well, if it indeed makes a difference, would be good.

I'm guessing you're going to get a 3570k? If so get something with the Z77 chipset so you can overclock. If you're getting a non-k i5 go with H77. Hope this helps. :)
