Check Before Buy and Help

So I have this build http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Zebrajellybeans/saved/1Oan

I bought everything so far except storage, case, and the gpu.

I am pretty positive I will buy these exact things because WD blues are trusty, the phantom is trusty, and the 760 has so far gotten pretty much only 5 star reviews. What I need help with is that a few days ago I went to Microcenter and bought the Corsair CX500m PSU. People are saying you need 42amps on the 12v rail for the 700 series and the CX500M only has 38amps. Do I need to return this and get the CX600M (Which is on sale for the price I bought the CX500M for) or will it be okay?

P.S. I am planning on buying an ssd down the road and an aftermarket cooler, so will those take up more watts?

Well, I think the CX500M would get you buy for a while, but if it's not a major strain on your wallet/purse I'd say get the 600m. Not all 7 series cards draw the same amount of power. Looking at the box for my 770 I see it recommends 42 amps on the 12V rail, and it consumes mroe power than the 760. Nvidia's website indicates you should be fine with a 500W PSU and that corsair unit is very good.

My Conclusion: If you can afford it, go ahead and get the 600 watt unit now since it will give you some breathing room and the ability to upgrade down the road. But if your budget is tight I think you will be fine with the 500W psu. The GTX 760 will not actually ever consume 38/42 amps. At most it will probably consume  just over 14 amps. The remaining 24/28 amps is for the remainder of the system.

I will see if I can mail it back to Microcenter but I already sent in the MIB so I am not sure if they need the UPC. I will contact customer support. Thanks for the reply, I was planning on sending it back anyway but if I can't then I am relieved knowing it will be fine.
