@Logan I remember some months ago that you mentioned that you where able to get Windows for only $5, but you never elaborated on where this could be done legally/psudo-legally. Me being a Linux guy I've not had a use for Windows in a decade, but currently need it for a project, so are you willing to point a fellow penguin in the right direction on where I can find said deal?

The .ISO for Windows Vista 64-bit can be found for free legally, which in turn can be used to upgrade to any newer version of Windows. Doesn't seem like it'll help a whole lot but it's a place to start.
Most of the links are dead, but the Install and X14-63452.exe are the important ones. You may need the third, but I don't remember. This is supposed to be a recovery copy, so it'll ask you at startup which version you're "reinstalling". The PC I had done this with still says it's registered, so it does actually put a legit OEM key in on install.
If you area a student or work for some companies you can get a deep discount on it. If you don't qualify for that find someone who does and have them buy it.
