I'm trying to throw together a basic rig for my nephews and I'm broke as all hell. Does anyone have a recommendation on a cheap CPU and motherboard?
I've already got a GTX 560 Ti from Zotac, a 600W PSU, HDD, and case. The system's going to be for entry level gaming and mostly minecraft, but I'd like it to handle something more if I decide to test it.
if you live near a microcenter might i recomend a fx6300 for $120 and a free* biostar board, board doesn't look great but it's a pretty powerful cpu, then again i don't know your deffinition of cheap

Thats actually a really good deal. Is there a bundle deal I'm not seeing or was the "free*" more of a node to the rebate? Anyways... I might just consider doing that if I can scrape the money together.
And to put things into perspective... I had all this running with the following craptasticness before the RAM slots started to give out.
So yeah... doesn't really even have to really fit the build... just needs to facilitate a void in hardware without spending nearly as much for 3 to 6 times less power.
Dont put an Vishera cpu on a chipset lower then 970A cause it will cause you headaces.
FX6300 with at least an Asus M5A97 R2.0
Grtz Angel ☺
not exactly sure how it works as i haven't gotten one yet (and when i do it'll be get a board cheaper, not a free one), but sense you have to go instore to pick it up/ buy it anyways i'm sure they'd explaine how it works
I can deal with headaches if it's going to be free*. I just need to know that once it works it will work.
