Cheap hobby Editing-PC (German Edition)

Hello Guys, I have a question and wanted to ask for your help.

A good friend of mine asked me to build him an editing/gamer pc. He is a songwriter/singer and has a small band. He uploads videos to Youtube, covers and music videos. The problem is that I can build him a perfect low cost gamer PC, but i dont know what hardware do I have to use, if the pc should be an editing one. I will write the Hardware Parts down so you can tell me whether they are good or bad and if I should change them. Please help us.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Box

Asrok 970 Extreme3 AM3+

8GB-Kit G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-RAM 1600MHz 240 Pin CL9

Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C SATA III 500GB

GigaByte GV-N660OC-2GD (2048MB GDDR5)

RAIDMAX Super Hurricane Midi Tower

be quiet! Pure Power L7 530 Watt

20€ Optical Drive

In conclusion we have a price around 500€.

Please help us build a good editing PC. Also this would be a super theme for a video, because I'm sure that not everybody has 5000$ to spend on a editing PC! =D

Greetings from Berlin, Germany.

Try this system:

Intel Core i3-3220, 2x 3.30GHz, tray

ASUS P8H77-V LE, H77 (dual PC3-12800U DDR3)

Scythe Ninja 3 Rev. B (SCNJ-3100)

Corsair ValueSelect DIMM Kit 16GB PC3-12800U CL11-11-11-30 (DDR3-1600)

OCZ Vertex 4 256GB, 2.5", SATA 6Gb/s (VTX4-25SAT3-256G)

As a case you might grab a cheap one, or the fractal design R4

You will not be able to use it as a gaming pc, but for editing it's just well. And because you might also do some audio editing, you might want to have a sound card too. The best compromise between price and performance might be the ESI Maya44 XTe, PCIe. It has MIDI in and out, which lets you use keyboards. I have chosen one, which is connected to the motherboard with PCIe, because I don't like cards, that use USB. In my opinion that's a bit too slow, especially when you want to work with a keyboard, where you want to have precice timing, but that's really your choice.

I hope you like it

It looks good!

The PSU I'd suggest you go with 80 plus Bronze, something like:

Everything else looks good!
