What is the best 140mm fan for my fractal design r4? It needs to be dead silent. and i don't want something over 15-20 dollars so that basically rules out noctuas. also, what is a good 120mm fan for my cooler master hyper 212 evo? this also needs to be dead silent. Thanks for the help!
- be quiet! fans are really quiet but might be hard to find in the US.
- the quiet edition corsair fans are very quiet(sp for heatsinks, af for case), but at same RPMs as the noctua noctua nf-f12, the noctuas are a tad quieter.
- Don't get aerocool fans though they are louder and perform worse.
This is only a small comparison, but i haven't owned more fans so i can't really give you a large comparison. (i've heard air penetrator fans are also good but no personal experience.
The two fans that comes with the Define R4 case aren't too bad. You could use the integrated fan controller and run them at Low or Medium speed setting, depending on the need for airflow. I've tried a couple of other affordable 140mm fans for my own build but went back to using the Fractal Design Silent Series R2 as they are named.
