Change in PC build, need some help

Here is my parts so far, I excluded the monitor, fans, OS and hard drives since I have 4 hard drives totaling up to 8TB and a 120GB SSD for the OS. Also, to note, I already got the GPU as well, but I'm putting it in there anyway:

Now here's where I am stuck and hoping someone can help me out. My budget is at least 130$ for the motherboard, preferably ASUS, but any will do I suppose. I don't plan on crossfire but I do plan on overclocking the CPU a tad and also the GPU as well.

I am entirely new to the Intel game, as my previous PC from years ago used AMD. I heard the FX chips are dying out and so is AM3+, so I decided to shell out the extra money and get better performance from the Intel. The CPU I was originally planning on was FX-8350, but I've heard a lot of people saying they have problems with terrible FPS with 8350 + r9 290.

Will I have any bottle-necking with the r9 290 and i5 4690k?

Is the 4690k able to be OC'd?

And lastly, will I be losing any performance going with the Intel rather than the AMD?

I mostly plan on playing, well, pretty much everything, including "next gen" multiplatform games.

Thanks for all of your help! I am a bit new and am coming from the console side of things, so any help is greatly appreciated.

you will experience no bottle necks with the R9 290 and the i5 4690k on the Asus Z97 pro with 8GB 1866Mhz CL8 1.5v ram ... it will run like purse snatcher  .... lol

as a second choice mobo more at your price point

i5-4690k will handle the R9 290 just fine.

Yes, the i5-4690k can be overclocked if you get a Z97 board.

Well, if you plan to do video editing/rendering, the i5 will be slower than the FX-8350.  For gaming, no.  The i5 will be faster in most games.

Also, a full tower is really big and isn't needed for a system like this.  Look into a mid tower system, perhaps?

Here's a decent budget motherboard for overclocking - 8 phase power delivery: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-fatal1tyz97killer

Not sure if you're going for a specific color scheme, though.

Beast motherboard with a 12 phase design if you can afford it.

I'm assuming that ASRock is good then? I never really heard of them before. The only reason for the full tower was so I'd have better cable management and more room for airflow, but if I can get away with a mid tower, i'd be able to spend more on a motherboard for sure. Any recommendations on a mid-tower case if what I said above isn't a problem? I'm just worried about cable management and airflow really, hoping for cool temps!

Thanks, by the way.

Thanks for the suggestions, if I end up going with a midtower then I will probably go for the first one you recommended.

as an owner of a full tower ... I have to agree  ... they are really big ... I will get a mid tower soon ... i'm leaning towards a Fratal Design R4 Define Blackout w/window or an NZXT H440 red & black ... both cases are sound dampened ... I will go for a quiet rig next time I am buying core components.
