Heya guys, back with more questions! So my rig has far outgrown the rosewill redbone case currently containing it. Its time to upgrade, but with so many choices it's hard to decide!!! Current build: evga gtx 780 sc acx, amd 8350, asus m5a99fx pro. So im thinking I probably will get a corsair h100i cooler for overclocking, but probably not right after getting the case. Would love to stick with a red case to match my desktop theme. Love to have room for push pull on the 100i, and perhaps room enough BEHIND the socket for a 120mm fan to blow on the back of the board. I'm currently eyeing the rosewill thor v2, any suggestions or experience with this case?
Nice build! Have you seen inwin's metal/tinted glass cases? I havn't seen any builds with 'em, but they sure look nice.
Nope but will look now!!! Now I'm leaning towards a noctua dh air cooler, since my build is VERY similar to Pistol and my main uses are streaming and editing..... still need a case though!
That led me to the GRone which has a cutout for a rear cpu socket fan! My concern there though is the lack of a bottom side exhaust for my acx gpu cooler
Hmmmm not a lot of activity on the tek today, maybe if I shout out to Logan and Pistol since they both worked a bit with this build?
I like the style of the Cooler Master N series, except the N500 that one is an odd duck, the mesh on those would go really well with an Led fan or two.
ok after some looking and reviews I think I'm set on the NZXT 530, still questioning this vs the thor v2, any thoughts before I spin in a circle with my eyes closed and pick one?
If you get the thor 2 and any type of water cooling make sure you have a drill that can go through the metal .. also the drive bays are next to crap
keep in mind i only paid $40 bucks for it with free shipping on a special deal
here was my review for it
Pros: it looks cool, lots of space for wire management, the front panel is a nice touch
Cons: 1) The holes for the motherboard screws for the back panel where not punch in correctly I had to use a wrench to put them in (this is the #1 point to buying a case and it was done wrong !!!)
2) The back panel next to the motherboard was off or bent (I had to push it in with a rubber hammer) *If you do not correct this it will put pressure on your 3d cards or pci cards and over time damage your motherboard.
3)Not sure why there is a fan in the front, infront of the harddrives - it is basically a solid piece of metal that dose not allow air to flow through it to the drives - there is very little if non air flow from the front of the case to the back because of the way the harddrive rack is built.
4) basically no air filters (they are just little slips of mesh that fall out they are not secure) exception of the ones on the bottom for the power supply and one in the middle that has screws in it *so it cant just slip off
5) design/placement this case is huge but they seemed to use the measurements form a mid sized case - if you are going to build a case this massive and put a cool top on it at least size them correctly. There is no room for fans on the top of the case under the cool looking armor top - they were off by about 1/4 an inch - This case could had easily been an amazing case if the holes where shifted just 1 inch from the edge so you could fit a water cooling unit without having to drill holes in it.
Other Thoughts: while this case looks cool it only gets 1 star - If i did not have a drill kit and the ability to fix the holes for the motherboard backplate screws I would not have the ability to use this as a case
If you are a case-maker make sure if you make a hole that is supposed be used by a screw that the hole is threaded so a screw can use it
Rosewill probably didn't intend for this case to be so difficult to work with or maybe I just got the case that skipped quality control

I like these two at the moment as my go to full size cases
wow thanks caveman, that's a lot of STRONG opinions too! Lol, but no feelings on the nzxt?
never seen or used the nzxt so i cant really comment on it the pictures look nice though :)
went with the nzxt 530 black. I like all the customizable options, and especially the mult-fan header on the back panel. Too many goodies for too good of a price. Now the question is do I overclock my 8350 using a noctua air cooler or corsair h100i in push pull.....a new post is imminent.
