Alright, so lately I've been looking to upgrade my case in preparation for going to water cooling this summer. I'm looking for a case with plenty of room to grow, as well as a quality case, however not at a crazy budget. (so no caselabs, etc.) So the kind of cooling I'm looking for is support for at least dual 360mm radiators, or other similar setups. However I've not really had too much luck in finding a case that has what I want. This is what I've looked at so far
Corsair 750D- Really like the look, however it only fits a 360mm and a 240mm.
BitFenix Shinobi XL- Would need some modding (not too much though, easy stuff) but then it would fit 2 360mm radiators, maybe a 360mm and a 420mm
Phanteks Enthoo Primo- This thing really has everything I want and need, I just don't really care for the look.
Cooler Master HAF Stacker- This also has everything I need and then some, however it looks kind of silly to me, so I dont really care for the look.
Now I've always been a fan of function over form, but I would like a case that looks good. Not really looking to spend more than $250 on a new case, any ideas?
nzxt h440 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KP85Zo-E55I >> pay attention @ 16:30 onwards - dual 360's if planned well. Overall its f*cking excellent, will be my next case for sure no doubt.
(no disrespect the the Tek's review of the above case, but TTL goes down the the nuts and bolts level especially for watercooling options)
or nzxt switch810 (what I have and have had the following setup that worked like a charm)
60mm 360 in roof 1set fans
60mm 240 in bottom 1 or 2 sets fans
thin rad (like the EX140 from XSPC or this from Phobya) mounted on the top hdd cage with a single fan. Can go thicker depending on gpu.
then run a d5 pump res in the 5.25 bays.
There is also room for a thin 120 or 140 rad at the rear, depending on the orientation of the top rad (end tank and inlet/outlet ports). If you do run the top rad with the end tank facing the front of the case it'll just need a little modding on the upper 5.25 plate.
Even the Corsair 540 is worth a look - loads of different configs. Especially if you remove those lower hdd slots below the motherboard area. Add to that the CM Storm Trooper or Stryker, to which with a good bit of planning and the odd mod will fit a large wc shopping list.
Agree with you on the cm stacker - saw one in the flesh the other day, hideous is all I can say.
