Why are there two different molex connectors attached to each fan, what is the second connection for? This might be a n00bish question but if I can remove them to reduce the amount of cables in my case I might, so are they needed and what are they for?
You can connect your 2nd fan to that 2nd connector.
Im not quite sure, but do you mean that its one small and one big molex?
If so, the small one is to plug into the motherboard.
If they are both molex'es I THINK its only Male/female difference..
Like you only have a male molex to connect it to, then you use the female one. vice versa
Ya, like green said. i think your talking bout the small one and the big regular molex, the small is a 3pin mobo connector, you can connect to ur mobo and detect speed and change speed if connected to a fan controller, the molex just gives power, so if you plug that in it will always run at 100%. Your fan should be able to remove the molex easily unless its hardwired into the fan. Use 3 Pin its alot better

if 123456iambelial is right does that mean I can connect all my fans together and use only one molex to power them all?
its bascilly this. one of the molex is for powering the fan, but since fans dont use much power its like a spilter so u dont use uip that molex. u use one, u stil have the other one. so its like nothing happend, and yes if u can actually route ur cables nice enough u probably can power like a good few fans with that
Ahh.. I have all my shit on one molex power lol.

Yes, I am right, and I am 100% sure about that.
However, you can connect all your fans together if your +12v rail can support all of them.
i have my 3 side fans on their own molex and they arent connected to the mobo.
meh.
does it really annoy u that u hve to cut the second molex . how many cables hve u got
