Here is a picture of the error i get; http://imgur.com/ifa3dWS
i am trying to update my (legit student copy of) windows 8 pro, to windows 8.1 pro. but i keep getting the error code: 0x80004005
here is what i have tried so far;
1. run WSReset.exe (to reset the windows store cache)
2. disable windows defender (i don't have any 3rd party anti virus software)
3. made sure all updates are installed
4. tried installing with no devices connected, mouse keyboard etc. (all except my two screens one use DVI the other HDMI)
5. tried installing after doing a clean boot (disabled all drivers except windows drivers)
6. disabled all startup programs and drivers
7. tried simply installing many times
can it have something to do with the fact that im useing win 8 pro?
i have noticed that i only had to download the files for the update once, can they have been corrupted? if so, how do i delete them so i can try downloading it again fresh ?
any help would be greatly appreciated
I thank you in advance tek syndicate community
