Cant play games

So i helped my friend put together his old comouter in a new case, it didnt go to well, as now he cant play any games, i have built a couple of computers before but they had all new parts, everything else works fine but when we try to start a game it says "DirectX encountered an unrecoverable error"

Have the drivers been updated?

 

If they haven't, update them and return to the thread to give the results of the updates.

If they have, what exactly are the games you're wanting to play?

It's a software problem. Try reinstalling Direct X. Uninstall it completely, then use CCleaner to clean out the Registry, then reinstall.
