I plugged the pwm fan from my h60 into the cpu opt fan header (mobo: asus maximus v formula) and after running fanxpert the fan kept spinning at 100% and I can't find a way to reconfigure it. I want it to run at about 1400 rpm, cause that's still bearable. anyone have an idea?
You can't manage this in the bios? I would be surprised if you can't with that board.
I know right, but nop...can't find it there...I plugged the fan in a chassis fan header now...I am able to control it now, but the cpu opt header is still bugging me
From what I found out you need at least one PWM fan connected to the the cpu fan header in order for the CPU_OPT header to be regulated as well. Otherwise the CPU_OPT will run at 100%. CPU_OPT will run at 100% if you plug a non PWM fan into the CPU Fan header. So you need at least one PWM fan connected to the CPU Fan header to regulate with the CPU temps. That is what a friend who has this board says. Although I can't find it in the manual anywhere.
oh well that explains, cause the H60 pump is a 3-pin connector. yea, I couldn't find it in the manual either. well, I'm gonna try it, I'll let you know what happens (i'm gonna put the pump in the cpu_opt and the fan in the cpu_fan header)
yup, it worked, thanks dude.
Glad I could help
