Can't boot to Windows, need help

Ok so my laptop had a dual boot with Linux Ubuntu (first time trying Linux) and Windows 7 (pre-installed on the machine).

So today I needed the space on my HDD and I had about a 40gb's in total for Linux, I went into the Windows hard drive managment and deleted the partitions and added them back to my main partition, my Windows 7 boot.

I have now rebooted the laptop and when it starts up I get this error message/informaiton:

error: no such partition.

grub rescue>

So I put my windows disc in to try and repair the installation and it turns out that my Windows 7 boot partition has now been changed to drive D rather than being drive C.

Now I have no idea how I can fix this as I can't actually get into Windows, or at least I can't with my knowledge, but using the Windows disc I have these options, Startup Repair (It didn't work), System Restore (It didn't work), System Image recovery, Windows Memory Diagnostic and Command Prompt.

I also have the Linux disc if I can do anything with that.

Hope someone can help, thanks.

When you installed Ubuntu, it also installed a bootloader called GRUB.

By deleting the partitions in Windows, you haven't deleted GRUB.

Yeah, I just did some Google-ing and found this thread,

it fixed it so I am all good now haha, I was panicking that I would have lost all my stuff there.

sounds like your MBR was modified, boot into a windows install disc and repair it. as for the linux side put it on a seperate partitician and keep it isolated from windows (the two do not get a long right now).
