I was looking into doing a biuld and wanted to use an AsRock 990fx Extreme3 to use with a FX-Vishera processor. I was checking the comatibility chart when I found it was only useable after a certain BOIS version. What I am wondering is will the mobo ship with the new BOIS on it, or will I need to update it, and if it needs updated do I need an older processor to even be able to boot the thing or can I boot with the Vishera and then update the BIOS somehow?
Honestly, it depends. There are some cases in which it'd boot while displaying information that is incorrect or it might not work at all in which case you'd need an older CPU. No, for if the BOIS is up to date, that is one thing I'm not sure about. I'ts possible, but at the same time there's no real promise that it would be.
