Well I am upgrading my pc to an amd 6300. And the motherboard I'm getting is an msi 970a-g43. So here is the question... Can it SLI?
wenn i look at the specs on the website from msi then it says the Msi 970A-g43 dont support sli only crosfire
the Msi 970A-G46 does support sli and crosfire.
Msi 970A-G43 specs

Msi 970A-G46 specs
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/970A-G46.html#/?div=Basic
so if you need an msi 970 board that supports SLI then you need the Msi 970A-G46
grtz Angel ☺
as far as i know the 970 chipset cannot sli, but the 990 chipset can, get something with the 990fx chipset for sli and better overclocking like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASRock-990FX-Extreme4-Motherboard-Technology/dp/B0057XQMHA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1364697535&sr=8-4
opps only skimmed through the first comment, still haven't seen many 970 boards that support sli, look into it a bit more id say
It doesn't say that it does, so I wouldn't take the risk of it not. Just get the one that MisteryAngel Recommended, the MSI 970A-G46. It's a nice board, and isn't too terribly expensive.
its sounds also strange to me, but if i look at the website of msi it self it says the 970-G46 does support crosfire and sli, so that mean it should support it.
about overclocking that isnt realy a point here but with a Fx6300 you can do some little bit of overclocking, on this board but not much.
990fx chipset boards do deffanetly support sli or crosfire, but, they cost a bit more.
and this msi board the G46 has 2 pci-e x16 slots. so that should be fine.
The ASRock 970 Extreme 4 supports SLI and xfire at x8 speeds. Other than that, most boards run at x4 dual speeds.
If you're going to SLI, just go for the 990fx chipset, or it won't even be worth it.
Thanks for the quick replies, might save up for a 990fx and since steamroller comes out next year and AMD is going to stay with am3+ (supposedly) might get a steamroller 8 core for overclocking, thanks again
okay ofc a 990fx board is allways a better bet. but the Msi 970A-G46 should support sli, caus its also named on the box, i have it in my hands at shop. its a nice board.
but a 990fx board would be a better go.
offtopic:
i am still so currious about the specs, and especialy about the quality of the Asrock 990FX Extreme 9 cause it comes with a 12+2 power phase design, that sounds realy awesome.

The G46 doesn't have two pcie 2.0 slots running at x16 (not simultaneously, at least). That's impossible for the 970 chipset.
it says so on the website if im right, but i cant believe that either, maybe one will runn x16 the other wenn compaired at x8 but that still gives you a bandwith from 16GB/s.
but its still better to go with 990fx
