Hello. Im new to pc gaming. I have been playing on the xbox for years. One day, I discovered Logan on youtube. He was talking about about great the steam summer sales are. They are awesome. I decided back in December to build an amd a10 build just to try pc gaming about. Love everything but the keyboard and mouse. I decided to build a more serious rig. Anyways the gpu I went with was the Sappire 7950. Works great considering my monitor is only 1600x900. Months go by until one day I decided to move monitor so my nephew could play far cry 3. When I moved it, the cord tugged and damaged the gold teeth stuff you plug into the mother board.
I read Sapphire warranty and I don't believe its covered because it was me who damaged it. So my question is what do I with it? Take the loss and get a new GPU?
So you destroyed the PCIE interface? I would contact Sapphire just to make sure you are not covered, but it is unlikely you will get much from them. Thankfully, 7950's are really cheap right now, so you are not out the full price. Also, carefully inspect the PCIE slot the card was in, to make sure it was not damaged.
I dont think the pci slot is damage because I threw my old card in there from my previous build "6670" I just checked newegg out. I bought most the games amd is offering with thier graphics cards. Dont know anyone to trade. I am interested in the 760. They get similar performance and comes with the new batman game.
+1 you could allways try to send an RMA, if you lucky they replace or repair it, if you unlucky they dont, then you can allwaya buy a new one. Msi 7950 twinfrozer.
