it's late.
i feel stupid.
i have root, adb etc etc. installing the openvpn binaries, or at least attempting too.
'mount -o remount,rw -t /dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/by-name/system /system'
not working.

why?
Does your VPN provider have a mobile app you can use?
running my own vpn's.
also yeah they do, but it's not the greatest, and it's pptp only.
...still struggling
all i can think of is doing something sketchy like saving the system image, moving it too a different machine, pushing the binaries in and flashing it back to the phone.
but that sounds like a bad idea at this hour. ha.
guessing i have some file/app grabbing onto /system that wont let go.
edit: killed, everything non essential... still no dice. can't get /system mounted as rw.
i'll be back tomorrow, been up for 48hrs now and this is doing my head in, night all.
While using a command line is as much fun as fun can get, can't you just use a the OpenVPN app?
fixed.
just dd'ed /system and modified on a different machine and then flashed back.
I'd still like to know why i can't mount /system as rw?
@Azulath
yes and no, simple outbound vpn sure but im also trying too run a local vpn server from my phone.. im new too android after using a nokia n900 for so long and im lacking some features on the new phone.
if you come here form google search with the same issue, dd your /system as a raw image, load it up else where and install the binaries, flash it back.
