Im looking to begin building cheap systems that use both an ssd and Hdd for average consumers but Id like to know if there is any way to tell windows to NEVER EVER allow someone to install anything to the ssd other than windows updates and such. I want to make the SSD option available to people with no computer knowledge without them being able to cripple their system since the SSD will most likely not be larger than 64GB.
can it be done?
yes its called kernal locking or freezing and is pretty common. I use it on guest pc builds for hospitality. I currently use Faronics.
Simplely config ssd and hdd correctly and there is no need for any extra programs or effort.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMo8krAJd5Q
