Just wanted to make sure Microsoft won't get all confused and mess up my activation on either of the drives when I decide to boot into an old Win10 installation with the same licensing (& vise versa).
Thanks people of tek syndicate.

update or something: Both windows 10 drives were activated normally when I booted into them. Must only be a problem with activation if they are both booted at the same time (or at least connected to the internet simultaneously.)
Since the activation on windows10 oem will be tight to the system id, so basicly motherboard number. I do think that it should be possible. But why would you even do it?
Well I previously had everything on an HDD then I decided to take it out and install windows on an ssd for the speed. I still had that HDD full of paid programs that I occasionally use, so I thought I could pop it in and use those programs n such just until I had extra time to transfer everything to the ssd.
I'll test it out and I'll get back with you.
edit: Both are still activated and everything seems all jolly, only problem is Ethernet connectivity. That is just because my motherboard and Windows 10 dislike each other. Thanks for your response!
My old Win10 installation has a lot of programs that I need to use. So I thought I could just hook up that old drive, use those programs and stuff, and when I am done, I could just hook back up the new installation.
Ill try it out and see what happens.
edit: Both are still activated and everything seems fine, only problem is my Ethernet connection. That is just because my motherboard and Windows 10 dislike each other. Thanks for the response!
Yeah basicly, wenn you upgrade from a HDD to a SSD, you can clone your drive. So yeah i would have been suprised if it did not work. Anyway which motherboard do you have? Maybe the manufacturer has some Windows10 drivers for your board.
I have an ASRock fm2a88x-itx. I got it fixed. It was a driver issue. This happens regularly, unfortunately.
I have the ASRock E3C226D2I motherboard as well and the same problem occasionally occurs. Must be an asrock thing. Their drivers must self-destruct after a period of time.
