Can I use my sim card in another cell phone?

So my boss gave me a work phone (galaxy s3) and it is on his plan that him and other workers have. If i buy a new phone, lets say for example an iphone 5s or a galaxy s6, can i put the sim card from the phone my boss gave me into the new one and it will work fine? And still be part of his data plan? Thanks for any help

yes if the phone supports said sim card.

Some phones take nano-sims, and some phones take Micro-sims.

Just a few months ago I swapped the SIM from an iPhone 5 into a Moto G and everything was just peachy. You'll want to double check to make sure the SIM slots are the same size between the phones though, because if they are not you're going to want to buy an adapter for a couple bucks.

whatever phone you buy make sure it is unlocked and you should be good to go.provided you follow tge above comment about buying an adapter

Sure. For the future just make sure that the phone is SIM unlocked or carrier-free and if it supports the bands you need for the carrier you choose.
