Can I upgrade my desktop?

Hello all, this is my first post on tek syndicate. I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on turning my desktop into a decent gaming rig? Thanks in advance, and here's some of my specs:

Sony VAIO VGC-RB50

  • Windows XP Professional (getting Windows 7)
  • Intel Pentium 4 3.20GHz
  • Intel 915g Express Chipset Family (w/ Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900)
  • 1gb of RAM (Max 2gb)
  • 250gb Internal Hard Drive

 

If you need any more info, please ask and I'll see if I can find it. Anyways, is there any advice for upgrading this for preferably under $600? Thanks!

Yep. A new PC. That one is too old for any worthwhile upgrades. This build will play most modern games on medium to high settings.

yeah, i've heard bad things about pentium 4, but besides that 2Gigs of ram could really be a hinderance

That's what I feared. Thanks though, that build looks pretty great and it's right in my budget.
