Can i support a gtx 1080

basically i have a gtx 670 and bought a gtx 1080, only thing is my computer posts with out a card (so no beeps, sounds like it does when it boots with my 670) but with the 1080 , the msi leds light up,fans spin but no display via hdmi and the pc sounds like its booting up

my spec is in the image below

can i support he card and if i can, how do i go about claiming about the faulty card if the card is indeed faulty (msi hawk eye x 1080 )

monitor is a vh242h(-4) by asus

I was going to ask what PSU you're running, but after some Googling it seems like your GTX 670 would potentially pull 10-20 more watts than the GTX 1080 at load.... so that's not it. :/

what is motherboard

my psu is a evga 600watt 80 + bronze

it doesnt cut any power it just doesn't display

im wondering if my motherboard is able to use the card or if my hdmi is wrong or if i have the wrong express lane

asus f1a55-m lk 2.0

can anyone help?

It could be a slot power issue, the rx 480 had the same with older MB's.
With a 1080 are you gonna keep the MB or where you planning on an upgrade down the road?

I was looking to upgrade to a fx 8350 kind of build

Im just trying to see if i can get it to run in my current rig if that is even possible?

my i76800k 6 core and gtx 1080 (both overclocked to hell and back)
are idling @ 170Watts
while Folding @ home CPU AND GPU the MAX MAX ive EVER seen was between 450w-500w
(give or take 40w for my 40'tv)

my systems Lowest idle and still be ON is about 110Watt

can anyone help in why it is not working please?

Two ideas. In the bios, enable legacy video device support under CSM. The other, clear the CMOS if the other setting doesn't change anything. Ofc you will need to boot to the bios with no card installed to change the bios setting.

can i change the settings with the gtx 670 in as i have no onboard graphics, once changed switch to the 1080?

also how would i change to legacy mode? i cant find a manual ect

fixed the issue, my fsb overcllock was at 111 however at 110 the pc booted up fine.

i have noticed my 670 would do the same on 112 and was fine at 111
