Can I put an ASUS GTX 970 Strix in my rig?

So I'm thinking about buying a Asus Gtx 970 Strix card from my gaming rig, I was wondering would I have any problems with installing it because I have an older Z77 mother board, I have listed my current specs below. if anyone can see any problems let me know

Thanks in advance

  • Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.40GHz
  • Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 660ti GPU
  • Asus P8Z77-V lx Motherboard
  • G Skill 8.00 GB RAM
  • Corsair RM 750 Gold Rated PSU
  • Western Digital Black 1TB 7200rpm HHD
  • Samsung 840 Evo (250gb) Boot SSD
  • Cooler master Scout 2 case

No you'll be fine.

Z77 isn't old at all really. The performance change going to Z87/97 is almost non existent. You could install it on an ancient 920 or an old AMD AM3 socket and be fine.

Ok great, I just wanted to check, nothing worse the buying something new and it now work...

Totaly fine. 3770 is still a great cpu. No upgradings needed.

Another confirmation.  Should work just fine and be quite an upgrade!

Could put in 2 there and you'd still be fine and have no bottlenecks!

It would be fine .

Is that a 3770k or just 3770 ?

sorry for the late reply its just the 3770, so i can't overclock
