I'm Considering a Tablet in about a Few Months. Mainly for School and for Content Consumption. (My Dell Venue 8 Pro Isn't Cutting it in the "Productivity Department" it has replaced my notebook which is a plus since i bought a proprietary stylus) I looked at the Samsung Note Pro 12.2, It has what i'm looking for but TouchWiz is the Spawn of Satan. And for Some Reason Cyanogenmod has no Support for it.
Basically I'm looking for a Tablet that can ALSO be my Laptop when need be. but i don't want it to run windows. Scaling is Ass and the App Support is not there. (And No I didn't Like the Androidx86 Distro) i would prefer to have it on Android since all the Apps I will use and need is Already on there, but if there is a Distro to Replicate that Windows, Tablet/Laptop Hybrid Experience i'm open to Suggestions.
To Be Blunt and Straight-Forward,
I need a Device that can be My Notebook, My Laptop, and My Tablet in an ALL in one Package. I kinda feel i can get that experience with the Samsung Note Pro 12.2 but the Touchwiz is making me a Bit Skeptical. Also an SD Card Expansion is Something I would like as Well.
I don't really understand what you're looking for then, because TouchWiz is optional, Android-x86 is exactly the same as Android-ARM, including app support, CyanogenMod and OmniROM are both available for the Note Pro 12.2 (everything works with alternative ROM, even multi-window), as is easy unbrickable rooting and everything else as it almost always is on Samsung devices.
Any convertible or tablet device, can also be loaded with a full regular linux distro (not Android), for a touch experience with Gnome or KDE Plasma Active, but to be honest, Android is still better.
Basically i want to get rid of touchwiz for the Samsung NotePro 12.2 for a more unbloated stock android experience. I prefer Cyanogenmod cause i've been using it on my nexus 5 for months. But I've looked around and haven't really found anyone who's mentioned flashing into it with that specific device. Unless we mention Unofficial Versions of Cyanogen. Which yes i have found some websites where people have mentioned using an Unofficial Version and have provided a Link to download the ROM. Maybe that is something to try I suppose? Lol
well it seems to work, it's probably also faster than the Samsung ROM, although I'm almost sure that OmniROM will be faster than Cyanogenmod, especially with a custom kernel.
"Unofficial" means that there will be no support from Cyanogenmod... but most support comes from the communities anyway.
You'll have to check whether flashing the device increases the binary counter or not, if you can reset that if it does, etc... because you don't want to lose the hardware guarantee by flashing the device.
