Can I check a GPU for H.264 encoding support?

Little background:
Today I ordered a new laptop for my grandparents because their old one became a bit too slow for them (they tend to click things 439x when it doesn't start instantly). I might use the old one for steam in-home streaming, so I'd like to check if the GPU supports H.264 encoding.

Point is, I have no idea where I can find if the ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200 supports it (probably not as it's 11 years old). That aside, I'd like to know for sure. Does anyone know if it does support it or where I could check for support?

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say it doesn't support it.

I don't think AMD supported it until the 7000 series.
