Hi guys, regarding this topic, I have researched a bit beforehand, but I want to make sure with you guys!
My PSU is the CX600M, a modular series.
The graphics card is this one, XFX R9 280X.
Also while you're at it, whats a good cheap case that looks good, and keeps sounds at a reasonable level?
Thanks for the help, I appreciate it!
I run a 7950 on a CX600 without any issues. 600w should be more than enough for a 280x.
I am positive it would work, and pretty sure you can even do some overclocking on it.
I see, thanks! How about some good cases, stylish, cheap and not too noisy? I know this isn't the right section but, if you can! :)
Fractal Design Define is usually the way to go if you want a stylish and quiet case, or so I've heard. The Fractal Design Define S might be good for the money if you won't miss the drive cages or 5,25 inch bays.
I got the NZXT Source 210 for my new build just for the price and it is pretty nice. If price isn't as much of an object, as it was for me, than I'd go with the Fractile Design R5 or Cooler Master Silencio 652S Which are both silent cases. If price matters a lot the Source 210 is a great option even though it isn't a silent case you can just replace the fan with something quiet, like a Noctua.
I have that gpu. My system uses ~300 W while gaming. You are fine.
600W is way enough realy.
Alright thanks for the replies everyone, I think I'll either go with the NZXT case or the Define R5 one.
I ran dual 280X's on a 650w so I would think for one it would be okay. My 5930K and dual 980's pulls less than 800w on full load and less than 600w while gaming.
yes and it can reasonably overclock it as well.. I know that for a fact
