Can a double gtx 970 run 4k?

ok so.

I am planning to do a build with a double gtx 970 cards and i'm doing 3 screens 1 main screen either 4k or 1440p and 2 secondary 1080p screens for stuff like por... ehh "research" and stuff while playing. so the real guestion i have is that would a double 970 in SLI run 4k games?

There's tons of benchmarks out there. A quick Google search gave me the above results.

4k compared to 1440p is night vs day. SLI 970's can do it (most titles) but imho a 1440p ips monitor and maybe some msaa is more than enough pixel candy, plus your wallet wont be hit as hard.

Cant believe all these threads, they had plenty of R9 290s for sale, pretty much all the cards from 200-265USD... 

Power draw, heat output, and brand loyalty could all be factors ;P
