Can a 3.5ghz Cpu work in Blender? ( Fx-6300)

I asking to getting understanding is more Ghz better for blender or can lower Ghz work too?

I know Amd zen is coming soon too.

Blender as far as I know is single thread no matter what. The only multithreaded thing is rendering. Everything else is single thread.
So yeah. The speed will count for something. Although Intel now and Zen later on will be way better alternatives of 6300...

my mate has a fx 6300 and he uses blender a fair bit and hes not had any complaints

I use blender with a phenom 4 core. You're fine as long as you're not doing too much.
