Camera lens out of alingnment?

I have a Vivitar 200mm f/3.5 and I think maybe the lenses on it might be out of alignment. I can't see any sort of adjustment on the lens for alignment at all

The lens is mounted to a d3200 with an adapter. The adapter seems to work fine with the other lenses. And the lens appear to be out of alignment on it's native camera. How should I go about fixing it?

ok i think i found the issue. I think I'm trying to focus on objects that are too far away.

I think I'm just dumb and don't know the difference between a zoom lens and a telephoto lens.
