CAD on linux

What is the best free auto-cad / inventor alternitave on linux?

I tried to run Inventor 2014 in a virtual container but the video drivers wouldn't work.

Any recommendations for 3d design on linux?

freeCAD is parametric

is there any isometric 'CAD' programs on linux?

http://freecadweb.org/

Thanks, I still  haven't got the hang of freeCAD as the workflow is different to inventor, it will take a bit of time to get used too i guess.

once AutoCAD and adobe suite can be ported (VM etc) over to linux bye bye windows. I have had mixed experience with wine but its  not a practical solution. I will have to checkout freeCAD see if its anygood @Zweigar whats are you using CAD for?

Nothing to fancy, mainly conceptual design. We use inventor at school and do CNC milling using g-code.

My graphics teacher says if I provide the stock i can mill what ever i want.
