I was wondering what your thoughts are on buying youtube views? How many early Youtubers do you think actually did this to kickstart their channel? Do you think it is still wide spread? Could youtube ever stop it? Should they stop it? It is my first amendment right to have freedom of speech, and If I choose to pay money to have my video viewed by more people in order to get my message out to the most people is that wrong?
Honestly it depends entirely on personally values and tastes. Do you want to watch somebody who buys views or somebody who doesn't? Do you mind if someone is putting out money to make themselves known? or would you prefer they work their way up without expending money into their account? It really doesn't matter to me as long as the content is good.
Thats kinda my point but I can also see why youtube is so hard fast against this cause its a slippery slope, once you allow people to buy views all of the sudden the content worth watching will no longer be at the top it will be crap content somebody put a lot of money into. For example go to your local Movie Theater or turn on your Local/Cable/Satellite television.
its up to the consumer to look and find the good stuff. How often have you gone on youtube, saw a "suggested" video on the front page, watched it and enjoyed it?
Honestly only Markiplier and Tek Syndicate have been the only suggested videos that I have ever subscribed to.
seems a little too much like "reputation management" to me. I thought it was low when M$ did it with XBone. It also makes it more difficult for smaller channels to prove their partnership value.
i only started doing you tube vids very recently i am very patient though i have a job and this is for the moment fun and some of the bigger you tube channels had a very long road
though can understand the stuff i have been doing can be pretty obscure like doujin pc games
i reviewed some pc hardware but that will be a rare thing as its only when i buy it my self (which is rare enough)
As far as buying views if the channel still not sure what to make of it i guess i would be really annoyed if someone did a similar channel to me and because they spent money it got them a head start
The thing is, I think that people will see you've bought views. If you've got a gazillion views and your content isn't up to par to your "numbers rep", you'll probably sink anyway because, well people won't like you. Simple as that.
Maybe but sometimes I think with things that are popular or perceived as popular and cool Stockholm Syndrome sets in for examples look at , One Direction, Parachute Pants, and, basically every show on television or every movie in the movie theaters and Pew Die Pie.
yes people cheat, & no it's not good, calling it kick-starting doesn't make it any better.
-> we want the channels with the best content to be successful, not those that are the best at gaming the system.
first amendment right does not include fraud.
If I was YouTube, i would create honeypot traps that offer views for money & everybody who makes contact gets down-rated into oblivion in the algorithm that govern the likelihood of videos showing up in searches or personnel feeds.
