Just wondering if any of you guys have any experience in buying ex-miner cards.
Are they reliable?
I know most miners don't overclock them but what kind of lifespan can i expect on these
Can they still be OC'ed?
thanks!

I've personally not bought one before, but I personally would steer clear as the card will have been running 24/7, 100% load. But then it depends on the price, if it was just a mild saving over buying a normal used or new one then I'd say avoid, but if it was a serious discount and you wouldn't mind having to replace it down the line, then go for it.
But that's me, and I could be wrong :)
-check the date , if it's over a few month , then NONONOOO
-aftermarket only , stock's are at 95°c for some cards , so only things like aftermarket asus cards or whatnot .
-buy local so you can return it .
I have bought and put mining cards into gaming pc's for buds over this summer , and the ones I bought where reliable, but I bought tem localy for 1/2 the price , and the guy only used them for ~2 months . They where all XFX 280's .
One question: price.
I got an ex mining R9 280x, it's working great.
I'm of the belief that dead mining cards are not that common. If it didn't die when it was mining, I bet it'll likely keep working while you use it. You will probably replace the card because it got old before it dies. It's worth the savings to me.
The HD 7990 I'm running at the moment was a miner for around 4 months and it runs about 50c on idle but its never gone past 75c full load. My card can still be stably overclocked to around 1100mhz but it flairs up to around 85c briefly at times and it was affecting my CPU's temps so i left it at stock. It really depends on how long its been mining and what card it is also aftermarket cards usually fair better since they have mostly had better cooling and stuff like Asus non-stock cards use better components supposedly making them last longer.
Its a crap shoot. Could work fine, but all that stress on the card could elad it to die prematurely. Especially a reference design model.
