Do any games even support 4K as of right now? Also, if they do, I don't think a 760 would run it quite well.
I'm not looking to game 4K.
If you're not editing/rendering 4k videos nor playing games at 4k, what's the point in buying one?
To enjoy 4K in my home.
I have revised my question.
Man, that is so cheap in comparison to other 4k displays, with the bell are they even so expensive.
I returned that exact model to amazon today. I wanted to use it for general use and games. I am not sure why but mine would just go black for a few seconds and then come back and keep doing this for a couple of minutes then stop for a while then start back again. I didn't bother carrying it around the house testing it on other sources. I found the screen sitting around 3' away to have very small font and text at the 4k resolution. I thought if I have to increase it to the point of being able to see it why bother having it. I already have two monitors now. Also the 4K on mine defaulted to 30hz refresh. I could tell in the mouse going across the screen there was ghosting, pretty bad very noticeable ghosting. I tried some YouTube 4k on full screen (I know its not as good as a disc resolution) and in action scenes or any kind of quick movement the ghosting was bad.
IF you can actually find some 4K content on disc to watch I think this display MIGHT look amazing. The amazon listing says 120hz refresh but on my computer it was only 30hz at 4K. I tried to find some settings in the menu to change resolution or refresh rate but there is nothing. I tried to change it on my PC but all I could do was go down to 1080i (Yes, i ) and it looked horrible. If you get a slow scene like a very slow camera pan or no pan with slow movement the picture quality was AMAZING!
This was tested on a PC with:
Connection made with the included HDMI cable which looked awesome. Metal looking ends and it had a braided sleeve on it. Thick cable also not some super thin crap. The base stand was made of glass or if it isn't it very much looks like it.
Just simply my opinion here but it isn't worth having for a PC monitor. Maybe it will work for you but the ghosting alone made it not worth having. Give a Crossover or Catleap monitor in 26" at 2560x1440 a consideration if you are looking at that price range. I have had my Crossover for a couple of years and it has an amazing display that is compared to the apple thunderbolt display if you have seen that in person. Since these monitors are off topic I will not say more unless you ask.
Maybe my whole setup was wrong in some way or drivers messed up on it or who knows but this is what happened just yesterday when I got it hooked up. YMMV
CAUSE HE FREAKING WANTS ONE!!! Seriously, what more reason does he even need then that?
I have seen Swifty playing WoW in 4K but I am not sure that it is supported in game.
WIth nothing displaying in 4k, other than a few youtube videos I was trying to say it would be a waste of money imo, and he asked for our opinions.
It defaults to 30hz refresh rate because it doesn't use HDMI 2.0, I believe.
IS IT WORTH IT?
Does it have displayport? that can display 4K not a problem
I wouldn't recommend it, I noticed you said you aren't gaming at 4k and that's fine, but I really would know what else you would do with it if you are using it as a monitor. If you just want more space to run more programs I would highly recommend just getting a 1440p Monitor.
Besides the amount of 4k content is so small you are pretty much reduced to just demo pictures and videos that most likely come with it.
Hard to say. I think for myself I would just buy a great 1080p for around that price. I have a Panasonic LED LCD tv I bought a little while back and the picture on it is amazing. Not quite amazing 4K good but its not far from it to me.
This is the tv I was talking about http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BB5ZQAM/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but they had 42" then.
Maybe my video cards didn't have the right HDMI output but it was not worth it to me and I would definitely get that Panasonic again. I have seen the Sony 4K in person and it looked life like in quality. Price was high as camel nuts though.

Note the 4k2k 30Hz and there is no Display Port.
These 4k displays and monitors can NOT display at 60Hz at 4k. The only ones that can do that are ones with Dual Display Ports.
There was another thread about this exact same display. You will be using this at 4K at 30Hz, 1080P at 60Hz, and 480P at 120Hz.
Using it as a TV would be fine, I guess? But no Bluray player goes to 4k, and no TV service does either, so thats useless.
As for a PC display, even only doing everyday tasks would look really crap at 4K with 30Hz. it would defeat the purpose of 4k. Because it would look terrible anyway.
If you're not going to be pc gaming, photo editing, or video rendering on this thing, then there's no point in getting it right now. If you just need a tv, then go for it, but if you're not using it for any of the formats I listed before, then you're not going to be using the display to its potential. I would wait until the format becomes more standardized, and then buy a better 4K tv.
Unless you're actually going to be doing something at 4K resolutions, then there's no point in getting one right now. You'll just kick yourself in the ass later, because you would have spent your money on an inferior product when 4K resolutions finally become more common.
Netflix is streaming a lot of content in 4k, now.
